Will settled accounts scupper mortgage promise

Options
We have joint mortgage promise from Halifax. I can see from my Experian report that they have viewed my credit report but don't know if this was in full or not.

The issue is that I have five settled accounts with differing dates. All were paid in full via payplan but when I had any extra money I would pay additional amounts to the creditors direct. This means that the five accounts all have different dates, from 2009-2012. There were no defaults and all are marked as settled.

Does anyone know if Halifax will know this already or will this not be discovered until full application is made? It would be useful to know as could ask Hubby to apply as sole applicant although this would seriously increase mortgage payments as would reduce length of mortgage.

We have 19% deposit and no affordability issues.

If you went through the Mortgage Promise, only a soft-search has been done so far and they may be unaware of your history.

Only when a full application has been submitted and accepted can you feel confident you are proceeding.

Many mortgage lenders run a credit application check for agreements in principle, as you are asking if they will lend to you. The footprint on your report should say what type it is.

There were no defaults and all are marked as settled.

You defaulted on the debts by entering a payment arrangement. This will show when a check is performed on your credit record.
  • No defaults - reduced payments agreed. All paid in full. Halifax now done full search and approved subject to survey. :j
