Certegy Debt Collection Ltd Help?

Options
I am currently managing my debt with the help of a local company which is free. I have repayment plans set up with all of the creditors that we owe money to and things are going nicely. Slowly but surely we are getting out of debt. I have set up all the repayment plans myself and just sought advice when needed.

I have a problem with one company that I have contacted several times but never had a response from and that is Certegy Debt Collection. My husband took out a payday loan with Ramsdens in desperation but couldnt afford to pay it back. When we started the debt management we contacted Certegy about the debt but had no response.

Today I had a phone call from Certegy saying that we owed the money and they had received our letters and that they were there to help and it was their job to help us repay this debt. This was all reassuring to hear but as soon as I reminded him we are currently going through debt management so I would have to check my finances and speak to the company helping us he snapped at me and said 'its all very well offering pathetic amounts of money as repayment and taking forever to pay your debts but you are costing everyone time and money so you need to make a proper payment towards this debt' to which I said yes I agree but we are not in a position to do so at the minute which is why we are going through a debt management' then he just said 'for goodness sake, whatever!' and slammed the phone down on me so Im no further forward.

I dont really know what to do as they havent provided me with any details of how to repay the debt and are just threatening county court action. I obviously dont want that to happen and would like to make arrangements to repay the debts with rest instead of them just getting nothing. Does anyone have any further advise on how to handle this? thanks

Don't speak to them on the phone, waste of time and they will say things they will never put in writing.

Send them a written complaint, signed for, for not responding appropriately to your offer of payment. insist they give you their account details so you can set up a standing order. Also complain about the conversation as you are seeking advice on your debts.

you could ask your local debt company to write to them with an offer of payment or you could do it yourself after making sure you know what you can afford.

Never ever give them your card details or bank details, as likely they will abuse them. Even a cheque has your account details on which gives them enough to set up a DD without your permission (fraud, but has been known)

Keep a record of all emails, conversations, letters and If they do take you to court, hopefully a judge will see you have been trying to pay and they have been unreasonable.
