    I was just being pedantic. The mortgagees are the ones who lend the money (the bank), the mortgagors are the ones who borrow the money (the customer). People often get them mixed up.
    Thrug's point was that if there is any money left over after the house has been sold by the bank and the loan repaid, it will be returned to you/your wife.
