Just curious-Would it be possible to contact a mortgage advisor on here for independent /personal advice via PM without compromising any of the site rules?
Thanks

I often get PMs asking for assistance, but I wouldn't say something in a PM I wouldn't say on here. It's still easy to give "advice" without knowing enough about the client.
If you want to hire a broker and PM them to ask, that's a different issue.
As I point out to anyone who PMs me, I only work in the Midlands on a face-to-face basis and our service is bigger negotiable fee with commission-rebate for independent advice, or £249 plus commission for whole market advice, recommendation and arrangement. There's no point spending that on fuel doing visits and I won't risk arms-length for fear of being used for fraud.I am a mortgage broker. Interesting. I've seen more face to face transactions that were pushing the limits of fraud rather than those at arms length. Introductions from a third party would be a massive no though, unless you were able to deal with the client direct.0 -
I did it two weeks ago , met him ,and am glad i did !Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

As I said the other day, each to their own. I enjoy what I do on here and I don't do it to get business. I haven't accepted a request yet. I contacted Dave Ham as i knew he was realtively near me and i had seen various comments praisin his work
Plus , he came across really well on here (as do you and a couple of others)
Our situation wasnt complicated as such but not straightforward and we felt some help and handholding would be the right way to goNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

I think with some of the electronic reports available that meet and go beyond JMLSG, non face to face can have its place but each to their own business models. Nothing beats a nice cuppa sometimes:)0 -
My view is that it is absolutely fine to pm a broker on here.
Whilst I personally come on here to help people (and a tad disappointed with some of our industry contempories) if someone needs helps and instigates a pm/contact through webite then happy to help formally if suits.
Take Kings. points about potential fraud, although imagine in the current climate we all treat every new client sensitively and appropriately..
All the bestI am a Mortgage Broker
