Even though I had posted on this before and felt as though I understood what each sub account was. This isn't the case anymore.

I wondered if anybody had any luck with this or any advice. I have spoken to Halifax several times and don't seem to get an answer on why sub account 01 is higher than it should be/expected to be. I have had one letter from Halifax 'explaining' it but it made no sense and had inaccuracies, which didn't fill me with confidence. Having spoke to them again and the call centre worker agreed the letter made no sense and she had no explanation for why the account would be higher than expected - another letter is apparently on its way to me.

What should I do if I am still not satisfied with the explanation? How is everybody getting along? any explanation/resolutions?

    Still no further forward...... Watchdog?!
  • I recently repaid a mortgage - including sub-accounts 01 and 98 but despite lengthy explanations from Halifax I am still not clear about sub-account 01. If this amount was deducted from the main mortgage account (Turnipfarmer 18/05/13) I cannot see any evidence of that on my annual statements. Has anyone seen such a deduction?
  • As suspected the ombudsman are in on the Halifax migration (to lloyds system) scam (increasingthe subaccounts balance hoping to confuse and dishearten customers to just 'livewith being ripped off'), ombudsman has agreed with the Halifax that the administration of the mortgageis fine. I have rejected their findings and as they are non-binding I will pursuemy original plan via my original solicitor used for the conveyancing. the mortgage offer couldn’thave been clearer about product fee and account fee and my latest annualstatement couldn’t be clearer as to the wrong balance in sub account 1 and 98(they can mess around with sub account 2 as that is harder/costly to prove as theyalways hide behind their daily rate calculation method) the subaccounts 1 and98 are clear to any idiot. Just goes to show what this country is made from. Thiscountry is a big fraud with the bank regulators at the top of the triangle.
  • Hi there,

I am also having the same problem and the ombudsman is not helping. How did you get on with the solicitor? I'd like to go this route too. Thanks
