Does anyone have experience of sending their marriage cert off to Capita who administer pensions to the civil service? Don't want to lose it although they say you send/ they return it recorded delivery. I need to update my surname.

Quite usual I think.
You can get a certified copy and send that if you want to keep hold of your original.

It is very common to send in a certified copy or original of a marriage certificate. Either when you change name due to marriage or you are taking the pension income.I need to update my surname.
Which is what the marriage certificate shows and why they want it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. If you don't know any solicitors, accountants, or other similar people accepted to certify a copy, pop into a branch of your bank and they may do a certified copy for free.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Although before doing that I would suggest checking with Capita whether they'll accept a certified copy. We don't, only originals, we do return on day of receipt by recorded delivery. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees.
