How Many Jobs to Apply For?
Comments
-
My Jobseeker's agreement is for 3 jobs per week. It was written in 2011, when unemployment was slightly higher (allegedly).
I typically find 10 per week. On a very good week I can find 3 suitable vacancies per day.
I've registered pretty much everywhere, jobsite, totaljobs, fish4jobs, indeed (my favourite), reed, search and many others. There is an issue of duplication across all of these though.
The only one I tend not to use is Universal Jobmatch, much to the disappointment of JCP FLAs. I would be perfectly willing to use Universal Jobmatch one day but it will have to be massively improved first.0 -

They haven't updated your JSA agreement since 2011? :eek:0 -

Not to my knowledge... lol
I might throw an SAR their way and see exactly what they have on me in terms of data and audit.
It could be that I have a newer one, usually I keep copies of everything that gets exchanged between me and the JCP/WP and I don't appear to have filed anything since the original JSag...0 -
How many jobs to apply for? My target is one per day. Might take a few hours finding the right one and tailoring a CV/cover letter to suit the job but one a day will for me be enough.
If Jobcentre want more then apply for more...but I'd appeal that saying it takes too long just to find a job and then customize an application to suit. My JSAg was to apply for 3 each week which I easily achieved. I could have easily gone on to agency website as listed in an earlier post above and just clicked apply taking 5 minutes to find and apply for half a dozen but as they were not customized I would rarely get a reponse.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Why could there ever be 'too many'?0

While of course it's far easier to count to 3 than 5, don't let the JCP staff stop you OP.
When I claimed JSA, I had to do 3 'job search activities' not even applications. Am sure I've seen one post on here mentioning 18 or such-like.
You do what suits as long as thier minimum is met.Opinion, advice and information are different things. Don't be surprised if you receive all 3 in response.
