  • Pay Day lenders are pure evil... You'll enter into a cycle of endless debt leading to bankruptcy if you go down that road. It would probably be better to default on the payment rather than take a payday loan to cover it to be honest.

Depends what you want it for.

If there are absolutely no other way to raise the money and it is imperative that you get it tomorrow, then a payday loan could get you out of a hole.

BUT you must be disciplined and ensure that you pay it back as soon as it is due, don't get rolling it over and make sure you can afford it without taking out any more loans because you are £500 short in your next lot of wages.

I would class it as an absolute last resort but sometimes needs must.
    :p
  • If the OP can't afford £500 now how could they afford £500 plus maybe £135 ish of interest in a months time?

Why owe 500 this month when you could owe 800 next month or even more the following month?

It's a win win ....... Oh! Hang on.....

As long as 1. you can definitely pay it back when you need to, 2. you don't mind the cost and 3. you don't mind trashing your credit file, then yes, take one. Make absolutely certain that you are going to be able to pay it back - and that doesn't mean paying it back by taking out another one.
