One thing to watch out for is that Prince of Persia and one of the others (Splinter Cell I think) require a v high spec graphics card (basically one that actually provides the new functionality in DX8 or DX9).
I have the Geforce 4 MX440 (which is really a souped up Geforce 2 - a slightly dubious naming policy by Nvidia) and this has no trouble with Far Cry but Prince of Persia complains about the card and refuses to run
Some people have found that 3D Analyze can help get the game running (slowly) but so far I've not succeeded
What's 3D Analyze do? I've hada quickly look on the net and can't find any english pages explaining exactly what it does.0 -
sounds like a good deal to meWhere is the pub? :beer:0

I think 3D Analyse emulates some of the hardware function. The Geforce 4MX's I think are missing the pixel shaders or it could be the vertex shaders. Alien18 is correct in that the 4MX's are really suped up Geforce 2's. (TNT2 = NV5, Geforce 1 = NV10, Geforce 2 (not MX) = NV15, Geforce 3 = NV20, Geforce 4Ti=NV25 4MX=NV17).
It's getting increasing common for games to require pixel shaders.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

Just bear in mind that you get what you pay for (unlike Dell misprices), a £30 videocard isn't gonna play Farcry (or Half life 2 or Doom 3) like a £130 one...No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
Received mine yesterday, 3 days after ordering as promised. Only loaded Far Cry so far and played it for half an hour, and I would alreaddy say this one game alone is worth more than the 9.99 asking price. Bargain.0
