Mattress!

Hi All,

I want to buy a new mattress as I've moved into a rented property and the springs dig into my back when sleeping. It's a double bed thus I'm not sure what the best thing to do would be when trying to keep the budget as low as possible.

I've seen the below on living social (£189 for a memory foam mattress reduced from some astronomical number):
http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/1569/deals/643900-luxury-memory-foam-mattress?afsrc=1&utm_campaign=MorningSend&utm_content=1569&utm_medium=email&utm_source=blast

Would this actually be worth the money? Does anyone else have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Would this be worth the money? It'll be a £189 all foam memory foam mattress. I'd said no, as it doesn't state how thick the memory foam is or what grade of memory foam.

You should be able to pick up a V65 50mm memory foam mattress for around £199.

  • Hi Pinkypants (felt odd typing that)...

Would it be worth the extra £100 to go for the V65 50mm mattress or to go for the one you linked? I.E how big would the diff be?

Regarding my livingsocial link, if you go to the site direct it costs in access of £800 and has the following pic:

But it doesn't have any dimensions on it like you say...

    Hmmm

My daughters had similar problems with uncomfortable mattresses at uni. We bought mattress toppers from Ikea. the girls said they were very good and some of their friends bought them too. They're cheaper and easier to take when you move. Might be worth looking at.
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me

  • Hi Itsanne I certainly thought about that. Though as I'll be staying there until I buy a house, if it makes a massive amount of difference, I'm happy to spend a bit more on a better solution.

The topper is certainly tempting though!

There is no way on this planet that someone is selling a £800 for £200, it's just about marketing. It's only worth what you pay for it. Trust me you are not missing out on the bargain of a lifetime.

The mattress that I linked to is the same mattress on both links. As a suggestion. But we have sold it many times and had no negative feedback as yet.
