Sewing Machine Help

Options
Hello,

I would like to take up a new hobby and get a sewing machine, I will be a complete novice. I remember doing a little sewing as a child but I would like to make my own clothes in the future etc. Can anyone please advise which is the best sewing machine to get.

Thanks

    Hiya,
If you go to John Lewis, have a play on the demo ones, see which one you feel most comfortable with, which will do what you want. There are also many sewing forums you can visit to see what people's experiences are.
There is an online shop that many people say to avoid like the plague....

    Thanks Finefoot for the info.

Our nearest John Lewis is about an hour away. What make/model sewing machine does everyone else use?
  • Hi I have a great brother one I got left by my mom but I do attend a sewing class for begginers and their sewing machines are quite dated but still do the job so if its your first maybe ebay would be a good start?

Hope you find it as enjoable as I do x
