Ok, that is actually a little strange then. If they have 5 months to relet it then surely at least some of the rooms will be booked by then - and why are they chasing you for the money now when you were originally meant to pay 8 weeks before - so the start of July?
Could you go back to them and try and agree something along the lines of you will pay for any rooms not let out again by a month before or something? Then you could try selling any rooms leftover on yourself if you needed to at a reduced rate to try and get some of the money back at least.
I think the point is that it's a holiday home rather than hotel, so it will be let as a whole or not at all.
OP - The clause you quote from doesn't make clear whether upon cancellation the full amount becomes repayable immediately (only that the full amount is due which is a different thing), if not, then in absence of anything else, the payment 8 weeks before clause would seem to stand and you won't be due to pay anything further until the end of June.
Ask them now to put it online as available for those dates. If it hasn't shifted by the end of April, maybe suggest that it could be offered for a % reduction that you will cover the reduction (better to lose some than all of the money).0
