rebuilding while in debt

I did a quick google search but didn't get to much info.

Is it possable to rebuild or bring your credit report a little from the floor even if you still have bad debt?

i have 2 things on credit, thats all.

Barclays credit card, i pay £100 a month of , more than double the min payment.

Natwest loan , i have not payed this for about 4 years now, had a couple of letters and thats about it, i swapped jobs to a job which paid quite alot less and they wouldnt even consider trying to do anything to help so i swapped banks. I am now in a good job which pays ALOT more than i ever have from any job so want to sort things out.

now i have no need to apply for a credit card even those without credit checks, but if it can help rebuild some credit ill go for it, the only thing stopping me is not knowing if anything i do wont make any differnce because of the loan. will i need to repay the loan of or at least start repaying it before i can lift my credit back up?

im aiming to be able to clear all debts and try and look at house buying in a few years time, im 25 now so dont really want to leave it to long , IE 40 years of age!

So .. If youre in a good job, Why dont you just pay what you owe on the loan ??

indeed. i would've thought that was an obvious way to improve your rating and start clearing your debt?
