  • So .... the restructure has been released and my job has been identified as 'at risk' as expected. What I wasn't expecting was my colleague to not be in the same situation - it seems that she will be given a job that I could also do!

Been to see my union rep and am looking into the grievance procedure

Still waiting to hear about the job I applied for a couple of weeks ago - I want it more than ever now!!!

Luckily it is half term next week so I'm on leave and although there is a consultation meeting I'm not going. I'm going to spend some time with DH and DD and some friends instead! I'll hopefully then be refreshed and in a better place to do whatever is necessary.

Lots to do over the next week moneywise too - new deals on power and tel/fibre, chase a refund and DH has just been offered a new CC deal which we'll be taking

  • So half term is over and the spending time with family and friends has been successful. Made use of some vouchers too and may have got myself a bargainous pair of (sparkly, designer) shoes for my sister's wedding. I'd forgotten the feeling that a nice pair of shoes can bring :smileyhea

The other jobs list has not been so productive...I've chased and received the refund cheque and realised I can hold off on the CC for DH for another month. so looks like I'll be hitting the comparison webistes, TCB, £co, etc etc this weekend!

  • So consultation period at work is over but there is a job for me to apply for - it's more money and would be above my colleague I mentioned previously! If I get it I also have 3 months to decide if I like it - if not I can still take my redundancy!

This also gives me a little longer looking for other possibilities - I'm still waiting to hear from the one I applied for in January .... they had A LOT of applications!!!

After lots of research I have sorted our power - a new 12 month fix with the same company but went through TCB and £50 tracked within minutes. :A

Still got the phone and broadband to sort....this is the job that always sees me procrastinate like no other!!! :o

Need to get photos taken tomorrow and apply for passports before the price increase. DH and I haven't been abroad since before DD was born so need all 3 - as we saved for this last year I am determined to book something!

  • Passports almost done - mine and DH's old ones need to be posted which DH can do tomorrow. DD needs countersigning etc so seeing a friend on Tuesday evening who is 'appropriate' :rotfl:

Applied for a Chip account to see what it's like - used the MSE code for 3% interest and hopefully it will be a DD to make up for the loss of one of the Tesco DD pulls I do each month.

Also emailed a contact asking to keep an ear out for new jobs that may be suitable - it's a different sector but one I can fit into easily and has much better pay and benefits!

It's been a productive day although I've still not looked at phone and broadband.....may ask DH to do it :o

Time to go and check on the massive cake that I've baked today for my sister's wedding - fingers crossed as it's twice the size I normally do!!!! :D

Hi MW  thanks for dropping by and making me feel like I'm not just talking to myself!! :rotfl:

So end of February and thanks to some selling and some money I was owed I've put another £359.50 into the offset pot. This puts my total OPs so far this year over £1000 (some offset, some actually off the mortgage balance) and our mortgage balance less the offset is now under £36000 ... slow but steady :D

    Hi :wave:and thanks sellotape!

Had an interview for an internal job in the restructure but now waiting to find out if I was successful....however finally heard from the other job I applied for and I've got through the shortlisting and have an interview :D

I'm trying to keep positive - I know that everything happens for a reason but wow my brain is struggling to keep on top of it all! I've noticed that my weekly banking check is not as easy as I normally find it (granted dealing with 22 accounts and 7 0% credit cards is starting to feel a tad excessive) not helped by Tesco getting rid of their DD facility so I am blaming that for the confusion!

Hi Kittenkirst - thanks for popping in!

So I'm now officially unemployed! My notice period begins tomorrow but I'll be paid in leiu of notice. I'm waiting for it to hit me like a train - so far I've been very positive but I know I'm going to miss the place and my friends/colleagues a lot!

So I've been focussing on the other interview which is tomorrow - so nervous it's unreal!

I have treated myself and booked tickets for a couple things through the year... one is for DD and me this week and I'm so excited but keeping it a surprise for her!

Money wise we're fine and up to date on spreadsheets. I did notice we're past halfway of our 2018 MFW target but I don't think I'll be OPing so much over the next few months!
I do need to focus on DH's paperwork for the business as it is year end
