    OP of 31p made!!

Did it to round the balance down to a nice round number! I was rather offended by the 31p making it look untidy!!:D

It has made me think about the small steps that others do (Tilly tidies and such like)so I've decided as another little step towards MFdom each month I will OP the pennies of interest added. Wish it was all of the interest but as I said small steps . . .

Spent some time this evening sorting out the books for the shop. Got slightly distracted and ended up catching up on some diaries instead.

All I can say is I blame you all for having much more interesting lives :rotfl:

Better put out the clues and eggs for tomorrow morning's hunt :D

Just pooping in as I've spent a bit of time updating my figures and wanted to update my signature. Really happy as I've knocked another month off .... it's slow but steady progress.

Hoping to do my full month end update on Thursday but not sure if I'll have the time as we're heading south for a family wedding on Friday so LOTS to do this week including outfits and present.... might not be such a MFW friendly week ...

Quick sit down with a cuppa and my April update:

    January CC £104.94/£100 Food £120.06/£150
    February CC £60.69/£100 Food £167.79/£150
    March CC £96.73/£100 Food £135.08/£150
    April CC £85.62/£100 Food £117.93/£150
    Overall CC £347.98/£400 Food £540.86/£600

Really happy with what we've managed so far this year. Food shop in particular - it's a real challenge but I'm creative enough and have a very supportive OH which helps. :D

We sorted our outfits for the weekend yesterday - no spends as we all had something we could 'recycle' from another wedding! Forgot I'd bought a gift already and OH has made a card so just got to spend on fuel to get there and back, drinks and Friday night's meal (for which I have a voucher for £5 off)

Now to look forward to a weekend away and family time :j

Had a lovely weekend with the family and it turned out to be cheaper than we expected. The meal on Friday night was part of the wedding so no charge and we only bought a few drinks as there was plenty of wine with the meal!

Did the weekly shop yesterday with my list of what I need. It wasn't a big shop but slightly concerned that I've missed something as it was less than £16 (including a chocolate brioche that we didn't need)... I've checked and rechecked my list against the meal plan and stores and seem to have everything so I'll have to wait and see.... :o

Finally time to catch up on here after a VERY busy but fun couple of weeks.

So after a weekend away volunteering then the Bank Holiday weekend away with the in laws I've had quite a bit of catching up on numbers to do!

Food shopping had been rather random to accommodate not being home much but meant we cleared some stores. So today I have done a rather large shop to stock up on the essentials as well as the usual weekly needs.

The volunteering weekend was great fun and always good to spend time with some of my best friends for free!

The holiday was very cheap as we stayed in the in laws caravan and no matter how hard I tried they paid for all food etc :o So 4 days away cost me about £15! :D DD absolutely loved it. Nan bought her a new bucket and spade for the beach (and we braved it a few times!)

So end of month update as I will not be spending this weekend:
    January CC £104.94/£100 Food £120.06/£150
    February CC £60.69/£100 Food £167.79/£150
    March CC £96.73/£100 Food £135.08/£150
    April CC £85.62/£100 Food £117.93/£150
    May CC £51.53/£100 Food £147.96/£150
    Overall CC £399.51/£500 Food £688.82/£750

Setting these challenges really do help me to focus on what we're spending.

Looking forward to sneaking a peak at the mortgage balance on Monday as we will be into the 50s :T MFdom is definitely a long term goal but we're determined to keep at it.

This year to date we have OP'd £534.41 and put a further £2449.46 into savings (which has a higher interest rate than our mortgage). Although we've only knocked 3 years off so far I'm concentrating on the daily interest rate as that is where I've noticed a big change. If we hadn't overpaid we'd be paying 55p a day more than we are now!

    Onwards and downwards.....

What a miserable day! Rain, rain and more rain!

I suppose the bright side is I've spent some quality time playing with DD. I've had a hectic week at work so have not spent any time with her - not even a drop off at nursery.

We were out and about yesterday catching up with friends and managed to tie in some errands around that (took some clothes back that were no good and did the weekly shop)

This week could be expensive as DH's car has a chip in the windscreen .... probably too big to be classed as a chip.... so repair is booked for Wednesday(through the insurance) and I'm preparing myself to dip into the savings

June is on track so far. The mortgage is now in the £50,000s which is fab. I've updated my signature and MFiT-T3. Now looking at what needs to be spent in July as it's house insurance renewal time - time to hit TCB and the comparison sites.

The chip was fixed with no charge!!! Very impressed with the service too! :)

Spending my time this morning tidying my desk, filing paperwork, updating spreadsheets, checking accounts etc Oh and waiting on hold with HMRC.....

First call to sort out Tax credits was a waste of 30 minutes as she finally decided not to update my salary until after I've filed last years declaration........from my calculations that probably means I'm going to be asked for money back. I'm putting the money in a separate account so I know not to spend until it's been sorted as I've had too many friends get caught out be them!

Now I'm waiting to ensure I don't have to file a self assessment as I've had a reminder even though last time I spoke to them they said they'd remove me from it! Grrrr

Hopefully they'll answer before I need to go and pick up DD from nursery!
