Driving instructors

Am pretty late to the old driving (36) but its been nagging me for a while, mainly from a career point of view so I've decided to get my license.

Any recommendations for local instructors or firms? Would like to do things at a reasonable pace, especially as it is likely to be my only avenue for driving experience in the forseeable future.

How about one of those intensive courses. Get it over and done with and out the way.

Had a look at those, but seems to be limited choice over here. Think it was Acclaim which do a 10 day course (4.5 hrs / day) for £1000. Wasn't sure if that was the right way to go about it or not.
  • I passed my test(1st time may I add!!) at the ripe age of 41.

I used Confidence school of motoring in particular the instructor is called Philip Weir.

I had never driven before, never had the inclination to do so, bt he was very encouraging right from the start.

Just in case you're wondering, i'm not related or affiliated to them in any way, only sharing what was a very positive experience.

How long did it take you, if you don't mind me asking?
