How much is the current handling fee for underpaid postage? Royal Mail

Can anyone advise? I've had an ebayer contact me saying I underpaid postage, but I'm dubious of the claim and the amount they're saying it cost them which does not seem to correspond with stamp costs. Is it still £1 or has it gone up like stamp prices? Thanks

It always used to be the actual amount which was underpaid, plus £1 for admin fees. I don't think it's changed, but I couldn't swear to it.

it is £1
so it will be the difference on what has been paid and the cost of 2nd class postage to make the item fully paid(assuming you havent sent it SD/RD)

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. Turns out it was a genuine claim. Royal Mail have totally scammed me though! They're trying to claim something the thickness of a large letter, is a packet. It wasn't even as wide as a DVD and was only sent in an envelope. What can you do though?

you say wide,what about height? this is usually the issue
