Polytar has been out of stock for months, but it was expected to become available again from April 2013. Now, according to a representative, it’s looking more like spring 2014:

Psoriasis sufferers, what are you using? Alphosyl seems to be back in stock which is a good alternative, or T-Gel.

I have had two partners with psoriasis and have noticed that whatever their dermatologists think this makes their scalps flakier and more itchy. I am the one looking at them all the time. My husband now conditioner only washes and his scalp psoriasis is a non issue, very occasional minor flares.0

I have psorasis and I'm currently using Exorex. The lotion isn't cheap but you could get your GP to prescribe.
Also Exorex shampoo is available too or at least it was last time I looked.
Hope this helps.0
