Regarding the length of time for an offer. If the valuation is done today and it is the last thing that is needed for the underwriting checks, it is POSSIBLE for the application to go to an offered status immediately.
However, they may be awaiting other information, or it may need to go the the underwriters for approval, which used to have a 'turnaround' time of 48 hours (although often quicker)
The missed credit card payment could affect the application, but generally they don't instruct a valuer on cases which have failed the credit score, so the fact that the valuation has been done is encouraging.
Probably the only thing that can be done now is to wait - if you haven't heard anything in a couple of days, ask your broker for an update.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Ok thats great to hear, I think this would be the only time I buy a house too much stress waiting for a reply etc.
Thanks Goldiegirl0 -
FTB paranoia - i think anyone who has bought a house has been there, convinced anything and everything will go wrong. But as someone suggested if you have been completely honest its normally just a case of sitting tight on your part and chasing with your broker if you need to.
Unfortunately its nothing but i waiting game and even after the mortgage is offered, its still stressful just waiting to get the keys in your hand.
But i wish you well with your purchase, and i'm with you - i wont be doing this again in a hurry lol.
