Water dd affecting credit rating

Not posted for ages, went br back in 2009 and things have been pretty good since, cleaned credit history a while ago, have not applied for any new credit or anything so credit score actually said good!! Had three positives and just one negative. I just checked my credit score recently and it is being affected by Yorkshire Water, have looked into it and apparently a few months ago they came to some agreement to report on water accounts. I have never had any debts with utilities but have them all set up on monthly dd. So some months I am in credit sometimes a few pounds behind, depending on when bill falls and payment date. Yorkshire Water is showing as a new revolving credit account which is counted as a negative as it is new debt (even though I have had the same Yorkshire Water account for 9 years!), then this month is it £26 in debit though I am not behind on paying it but that is also showing as a negative so my overall score has dropped from good to poor. Has anyone else come across this, should I just ignore it as not wanting to get any credit or should I do something about it? If so what? Hope that all makes sense. Thank you for any answers.

Credit scores are quite arbitrary, and do not reflect real lenders decisions.

Utility suppliers often do extend credit to people - otherwie they'd have to cut them off if they don't pay in advance.
A simple way to fix this - if it is actually affecting your ability to borrow - would be to keep a small surplus in your utility suppliers account, rather than borrowing from them.

Confused, is your report showing missed payments or just that a balance is due?
