High myopia prescription..where to get glasses?

The lens replacement procedure has been carried out widely. It's the same procedure as removal of cataracts.
My last pair of glasses were from Asda. However, at the time, Asda had a locum optician who had his own glazing tools. When the glasses arrived at Asda, after being returned a few times. The locum optician worked on the lenses & made them look more acceptable. He doesn't work at Asda anymore.
One of the major issues with having thicker lenses, is I can see the egde of the lens & it's quite distracting when looking through the lenses. So I need them to be as thin as possible.
I always choose small plastic frames, so it's not the frames that's the issue.0
