Stick or transfer

At the moment i have a very modest with profits personal pension with the Royal National Pension Fund for Nurses, which is now managed by Liverpool Victoria. I contribute £78 per month, and the fund has a transfer value of aprox. £15k. I am 53 years old and having read all the bad publicity recently, with regard to with profits funds, was wondering if it was worthwhile transfering the money elsewhere, ie into a sipp.

Have you checked whether your pension has any guarantees attached, especially a guaranteed annuity rate at maturity?
If it has and this is high you may be better to leave it where it is.
It would almost certainly be better however to put the new contributions into an investment ISA rather than a pension, if you have no employer contributions going in.Trying to keep it simple...
