borrow more but payments stay the same?

Hi I have just heard from a friend who has informed me that because I bought my house on a right to buy of the local council and my three years is up so I don't have to give them anything if I was to sell I can remortgage and borrow more money but my payments stay the same is this true? sounds too good to be true to me can anyone help thnx jay

    The only way you can get more money for the same repayments is by taking a longer term or getting a better deal (interest rate etc). Whats your current deal?
