I was about to order wine on special offer not having used Asda online shopping before. The wine I wanted was out of stock locally.

When I got to the basket there was a notice that the prices were indicative only and I would be charged the price applicable at the time of picking!

As this was on offer 3 bottles for £12, almost half the usual price, I didn't proceed in case they shot the price back up.

Seems a crazy way to expect customers to shop.

Lol. Picked up some myself. Got the last three on the shelf at my second attempt. Seems to be selling like hot cakes.

I order groceries from time to time from Asda. This notice is always at checkout but in the few years I have been using it I have never been charged more and I've found their customer service to be good too. Once had an order with a number of items missing which must have been a full bag and all items were refunded no questions asked. I also cancelled a delivery 30 mins before delivery slot time due to unexpected circumstances and again no problem or penalty.
  • I am not sure about this wine brand, but assuming it is a brand and not an actual ASDA own label brand...why don't you just go to Sainsburys and buy the wine there? With their brand match thingy and you spend over £20 with the brands match they will obviously mat the same price as ASDA/TESCO and give you the price difference at the till at the same time. No brainer:T

I have done the brand match thing when buying ice-cream etc, I think it is a good idea and saves you travelling to another supermarket just to get the offer.

    Try it!!:)

happy-gardener - what evidence do you need for brand match - is a print out from computer screen enough ?

There are so many caveats with the different brand matches I find they are pretty useless.

It's automatic at checkout. A coupon gets printed off (difference between the price) which you use for your next shop. Max £10 I believe.

They don't match the price there and then.

Got a few cases in Asda yesterday, keep us going for a while!

Sainsbury price match no good as saving was considerably more than £10!
