Joint account during Bankruptcy

Hi guys I went bankrupt last December and joined the Co Op Bank before I did..
This debit card is used by both my wife and I and sometimes she needed it but I had forgotten to leave it so I applied to the bank for my wife to be added to the account so she could have her own card but we were turned down.
My question is this normal procedure during BR and could I add my wife after the year is up?
Cheers

dont know if that is normal or not but i do belive by having ajoint account it provides a financial link between you and your wife ( mortgage also if you have a joint one) and therefire will adversly effect her credit rating.0

Until the bankruptcy drops off your file in 6 years time any financial link with you will have an adverse affect on her credit rating. So wait until then before getting joint accounts.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Not sure if Co-op dish out joint accounts with Cashminders?
Besides, the application would have been made during the period the OP is undischarged...and Co-op have some funny ideas about undischarged BRs?
I suggest.......................the OP simply gets OH to apply to Co-op for her own Cashminder account...or even, two?
Since these accounts can be managed online, it is a simple thing to transfer funds from one account to another, and so on.No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Alistair, they do do joint accounts asDH and I have one. But as we have said individual ones would be better at the moment.
( I really wanted to post they don't do duvets there, showing me age!:o)BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
