My dog costs £25 a month for food and insurance, and I would get rid of my OH before I got rid of the dog (OH costs me much more for one thing!!!). I like to get rid of my anger/frustrations by taking the dog for a long walk, makes both of us feel better.
I had my dog before I had my debts, so it's the debts that have to go!

I have 5 dogs and a couple of hamsters. The dogs were here before the sh*t hit the fan so they are going nowhere. I go without things myself to make sure they get good food and their insurance is kept up to date.£2019 in 2019 challenge:£50/2019

I have a cat and she costs me a fair bit between the food and the vet (I pay monthly for her shots and checkups) but there is no way I would get rid of her. If some people disapprove, well tough for them. I did not spend hundreds of pounds on her. She is a stray and she adopted me. I like her, she likes me and I am certainly not going to ask for the approval of small minded idiots:mad:

Well we got our dog AFTER we started the ball rolling sorting our debts,BUT we already had a wonderful dog that sadly passed away,we were heartbroken and found life very difficult without our 'little friend' so we got another dog from the RSPCA,gorgeous dog, loving and playful and definately part of the family,I would give up the food on my plate for the dog to eat,we don't spend much on him,we don't smoke, never have a drink and certainly don't go out,our life revolves around the kids and dog.I wouldn't begrudge anyone for having a pet.Debt at highest £102k

Surely it's a matter of priorities and what is your priority is up to you. Who can afford to smoke, drink, have the odd (cheap) holiday, have a car - the list is endless, but if you have one thing, you do without another. So having your rabbit puts back your debt free date by... well, not much really. What would you rather have, your pet or to be debt free a bit earlier? It's your choice, and if other people don't like it, tell 'em to, well... hop it!!! :rotfl:
Sorry, that was awful!!!0 -
Money cant buy you love can it
weve got a dog ( shes living with us finally) and she costs next to nothing. ( aside from a recent vets bill which Im not thinking about LOL)
she must cost us about 4 quid a week, if that.
mind you Ive stopped buying tennis balls for her now she just destroys them within seconds- I dont tihnk peoples republic of china could manufactur them quick enough for jazzies needs LOL - shes a moneysaver herslef hahah she often finds tennis balls on the fields - saves me a fortune LOL:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
We have 7(yes I know!) cats. I love them all very much and dont think ANYONE has the right to offer an opinion on the expence(debatable) of pets. By the way we didn't set out to have 7. They are all waifs and were unwanted. Most have health problems and would I ever get rid of them????????? Well read my lips!!!Not a &*!@ CHANCE. ENJOY your pets, love them and be happy.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
