They are changing dh's contract - advice urgently needed!

As explained above, I already work 7 days a week and most of that is spent in looking for new clients/contracts. I work from home so it doesn't matter to me if he's here or not, unfortunately that won't affect how much work I am able to do. I'm a copywriter so I have to source my clients and once a project is finished, it's pretty much done. I have to then find the next client and project.
My salary varies from month to month.
The worst case scenario is that I have to give up my business and look for full time work outside the home. I have tried to do that in the past and there were around 50 applications for every post advertised so in the end I accepted a job cleaning at a local B&B. I am going back to that after Easter as she needs someone in just one day a week and to do cover work and I can fit that in around what I already do, but it only pays minimum wage.
I started out as self employed because I couldn't find a job elsewhere. I'm qualified as a teaching assistant for children with special needs, I have office skills, excellent communication and writing skills and yet I spent a year looking for work.
Back to the drawing board I guess.
Thanks for all advice."Funny how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse, it does." - Marvin (Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy)

I wasn't suggesting that he did the same thing that he does in his regular employment!
As an example, when my dad was a postman and had afternoons free, he worked as a jobbing gardener - other workmates did painting and decorating jobs.
If his days off were fixed he might, although most jobs like that would be cash in hand. I will look beyond driving jobs for him when he comes home tonight, we'll go through them all but his skills are in operating plant hire machinery and driving. He has good DIY skills but no qualifications in that area.
We will consider all options however so thanks for the ideas."Funny how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse, it does." - Marvin (Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy)

He's spoken to ACAS. If there are more than 100 employees affected then they need to give them a 3 month consultation period, which they are not doing and because dh has been working for them for 7 years he requires a 7 week notice period of any change of contract.
Useful info that I had to share for anyone else who is told to just put up and shut up."Funny how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse, it does." - Marvin (Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy)

So, have the drivers that were/are in the union not got them involved?"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Yes, they are approaching the Union but none of the drivers at my husband's depot were members so we don't know what they've said.
