hello please help and advise,
we had a lovely letter on friday from the delightful csa,
the letter starts with the words,
'we have contacted you before regarding the application for child maintainance made by BLAH BLAH, it then goes on to say, 'because you havent given us the information we are now calculating your maintainance without your input' this is known as default maintanance decision,
lol so after 6 years they say we havent been in touch, ahem neither have they.
my hubby hasnt worked much, job situation round this area is one of the worst in england, for example in the last 7 months he had a job from an agency for 2 and a half weeks, however during all this time i have worked and he has not even been entitled to any benefits apart from his stamp, even though iv still sent £40 a month from my wages and more at christmas and birthday time. in all honesty he sends of his c.v. about 6 times a week and has done for years, he really trys to work, he really does but theres nothing, he even applys for cleaning jobs and get no reply, we live in the north east.
im worried as the government reckon the average national wage is about £24,000 a year, (makes me laugh aswell) average wage in our area is £12,000, ive looked at statistics.
they have given us 5 days to provide dates, times wages ect he's been working in the last 3 years, why only 3 years? they want all payslips ect, within 5 days, it cant be done and how do we find the info ?
anyone else had a default maintenance decision? whats all that about
please help,
thankyou x

Speaking from "the other side" as it were (RP) I know that they had to do this eventually with my ex, but they wrote 3 times beforehand which I thought was the minimum they have to do?0

seriously weve had no letters from them in 6 years, even though we phoned them years ago and they said theyd get in touch, they never did, so i just continued paying £40 out of my wages which i know i dont have to, jobs are really hard to find, id check with your ex because i wouldnt be surprised if he hadn't heard from them either but they (csa) say theyve written to us before, but i know they haven't, i open all the mail, im truly shocked0
