100% Polyester - would you buy it?

I saw a really nice blouse in Debenhams the other day. Tried it on and looked really good. When I looked a at the material it was 100% Polyester and I was reluctant to spend £35 on polyester so left without buying. Do you buy 100% polyester and do you have issues with it ?(thinking electric shocks and sweating:eek:?

    No I wouldn't.
but that's just me, I only wear cotton, silk, linen, wool - the only synthetic i wear is rayon/bamboo fibre.
i have ocasionally bought cotton&polester mixes in the past and found them quite nasty and sweaty-feeling

No, wouldn't buy it, spent a whole morning looking for smartish work tops the other week and the only thing I could find was man made, offices are too hot anyway without wearing stuff like that. Or else they are flimsy polyester, even worse as can only wear in summer then yuk. There seemed to be an overload of polyester when I was looking!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I wouldn't buy it either - I find polyester doesn't breathe so I end up feeling too hot or cold and clammy. I find it really annoying that so few places sell natural fibre clothing now and charge fortunes for cheap horrible man made fabric clothes.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I made the mistake of wearing a polyester blouse to work the other day and for some reason either it or I was charged with static - so I spent the whole day with it clinging to me like I was just in from a torrential downpour. :(

I wouldn't buy another poly blouse (or poly anything for that matter) again.

I think all synthetic fabrics have come a long way.
the fabric has changed and so has lifestyle
If you remember when your holiday luggage weighed 32kg and you packed a travel iron among many other kitchen sink items
    most sport clothing is synthetic
Its light weight, crease free dries quick, washes well etc
Many designers now use synthetics, they can produce fabrics and designs that look expensive and are durable
My own preference lies with cotton wool silk and cashmere, feel good, but short life,
but there are so many benefits to polyester, IF it looks good, feels good and price is fair, I wouldnt be put off
    Debenhams however is another debate
I dont like the store, any store with such frequent sale extravaganzas is pitching to imberciles
But you already knew that, right?
