Please could someone help me to understand the way that they work out the protected income calculation on csa 1. I am struggling to make sense of the figures they have used in the calculation.
What is counted in the figure for disposable income for your household? The figure they give is £73.40 more than the earned income for the household. We don't get tax credits but we get child benefit for one child, NRPP also gets carers allowance and the 18 year old 'child' who still qualifies for child benefit gets dla high rate care and low rate mobility paid directly to him. I think the dla and perhaps the carers allowance are included under the other income heading (just below the earned income heading) which lists £158.15.
I would welcome some advice please as I want to check that the calculation is right. I don't want any nasty surprises later if they haven't included all of our household income.

The Child Benefit and Carers Allowance will be included in the Disposable Income of your household. The other disability benefits are disregarded.0

The 'other income' heading seems to include the dla and another amount, what else would come under other income? Whatever it is it is not being counted in the disposable income figure.0
