P87 and claiming tax refund

Options
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I know there are lots of threads on the subect but can't find one specific to my circumstances. I have a company car. For years it was provided as a straightforward company car and now it is provided as a lease car on a salary sacrifice basis. Essentially, a car allowance is given to me each month in my salary and then an amount slightly lower than that is taken out of my salary to fund the lease car. This apparently saves me some tax and NI. I have always (under both arrangements) paid for all fuel put in the car and my company pays me 12p for every mile I use on company business. Bearing in mind the strange arrangement of salary sacrifice now (called a car allowance) and the fact it was a straightforward company car up until last year, can I complete a form P87 for the difference in the 12p per mile paid to me and the 45p per mile (or whatever it is currently) allowed by HMRC? If so, can I backdate this for 5 years to cover both arrangements? Any advice would be appreciated.
