Hi does anyone know if its correct that 3yrs after BR , PPI claims are no longer regarded as assets by OR and can be done by us? Have received a letter from First Plus today asking us to confirm our details for the PPI tracing team. Hadn't considered claiming before as thought it was for the OR to decide but read here that after 3 yrs from BR may be able to claim ourselves? not sure whether to or not? Thanks in advance for advice. BR in Nov 2009, discharged Apr 2010. finished payments to OR Dec 2012.:)

No, that's not correct. Any PPI taken out on products prior to your BR belongs to the OR however many years later you claim it.
I would inform the OR of the potential claim and see what they say."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -

Remember, too, that if anybody you complain to had to write off money you owed them, then any redress awarded would be used against that first.0
