A new start....
I have been reading the MSE forums on and off for several years and occasionally posted under a long forgotten account but could never keep it up. I had a few successful months of debt busting but my heart was never really in it.
THIS MUST CHANGE!
I will be setting myself a realistic debt free date and several short term goals to keep me going.
In case anyone ever reads this I shall post a bit about myself...
I am married with two beautiful young children. My husband is very loving and supportive but our debt constricts us and puts a strain on our marriage in many ways.
I am a stay at home mum as childcare wiped out all but very little of my wages so my husband is the breadwinner. In order to try and secure our financial future I am attending night school and studying a degree in the hopes of getting a well paid job once the youngest starts school in 4 years.
Anyway, enough for now. I will be posting some goals later once I have figured out what they are.

Had a very interesting conversation with my mother today. She rents her flat as do we but she has a lump sum from her retirement. She has suggested that she could pay a decent deposit of around £30,000 for us to buy a house and she could live with us rent free in exchange. We were considering renting a large house together to save on costs for both parties so the living together thing doesn't bother me.
Food for thought....*Baby step 1 - £0/£500 - Emergency fund*0 -
Typically the car failed its M.O.T so that was £220 on the credit card
In other news my mum gave me £150 so added with some 'spare' cash I managed to pay £100 off a credit card and pay in full my simply be and new look account. :T So excited to have got the ball rolling on my debt busting :j
Setting myself some goals today as promised to be completed by 31/06/13:
. [STRIKE]Pay off my two smallest credit accounts[/STRIKE]
. Book a table at second hand baby market
. Use cash for all spending
. Clear capital one accounts as a priority
. Clear next account
This should keep me going for a bit, now to update my sig!*Baby step 1 - £0/£500 - Emergency fund*0 -

Feeling positive on the debt busting front today. Going to have a look at lidl offers for this weekend and start meal planning for my Saturday grocerey shop.
I have paid 1% of my total debt, yeehah cowboy! :money:
Hey its not a lot but I am 1% closer to financial freedom
Also I booked a table as a second hand baby market, it cost £23 but unlike car boots everyone is your target market and I have a few 'big ticket' items to sell. If I get £100 i'll be happy but its not till May 5th so plenty time to prepare!*Baby step 1 - £0/£500 - Emergency fund*0 -

This is the bit of paying off debt that really bugs me - when you have nothing to do but wait another month till payday to make another small payment. I wish I could make lots of small payments all through the month but simply don't have any way too as every penny is budgeted for!
I am really just in a bit of a crappy mood today, fed up having no money:(
Tonight I am going to go through my budget and check I have entered the right amounts for all my bills. Doing this helps me to feel like I am being proactive in dealing with my debts even if I have not made a payment. Also I must meal plan for next week as I forgot to do so last night.
Then....I am going to work out how much money needs set aside for easter activities with the kids AND if I finish that I will start working out the cost of activities during our log cabin holiday in April. We are sharing with the in laws so our week is only costing £170 (excluding petrol, food, activities). My wonderful mother has given us £500 to do this holiday, she really is a godsend
Anything I can keep left over will be used to pay debt :T

Broke my foot last week
So I have slipped up big time and spent way too much on takeaways:(
Tomorrow is D Day in finding out if we will be eligible for any tax credits this year, although actually I imagine they wont tell me on the phone and i'll need to await notification. I hope it should be around £50 a week which would be a godsend.
Feeling a bit down in the dumps today...:(*Baby step 1 - £0/£500 - Emergency fund*0 -
Hello Chemical-Thundra

Keep up the good work, you seem to be doing very well so far, never mind the slip up with the takeaways, just get back on debt busting today !
I am like you I pay a bit of debt off once a month then just have to wait for pay day again! Its sucks
Anyway I have subscribed to your diary
xCar- £6990.50
Overdraft- £400
Holiday:
08/06/15Flight- £201
03/08/15Remaining-£2600 -
Where has all my money gone?
Got my credit balance back from brittish g*s which was £139 but somehow its dissappeared and I have no idea how
Think I need to get me a wee notepad to keep track of what I am spending.
Got my tax credit award through today. £143 a month. Compared to my part time salary of £700 its a real drop but I am grateful for any help at the moment.
Going on Holiday next week and I am a bit worried about spending too much money. My husband goes away on business the day after we get back and he needs money to pay for his travel and meals for him and one of his staff. He will get the money back but not for a couple of weeks.
Next goal- get a spending diary
