No 1 ever said life was fair but no 1 said life had to be a struggle.....

one more day blurring into another
what is the whole point of this s***?
When i was made i was out of s***.
Nothing is going right.

For example, getting theses creditors (or as I visualise them "pigs") of my back, is a contiuous strain. My debt in comparison to others whose debts can be #100,000+, is #10,000 approx. But what a struggle to pay it off. Or trying to get a job - any job. I've got better chance of dying and being resurrected!!

I cannot take this b**s**t life any more.

Three of the worst things I have ever done or not done in my life I cannot believe how they've lead me down this path. Its not as though I have done drugs or robbed a bank or anything else subversive, but considering that I worked for family - which I'll never do again. Training to be a teacher. Jeez, I earned nothing for this job. I took on this role because I wanted to build a better more secure future, plus I wanted to do something a bit different, do something worthwhile, and hopefully inspire, they youth of today really need it. All I got from this job was work and worry, work and stress. Budget cuts, no talk of inspiring students, just put downs. Meetings that led to nowhere. Umpteen course that were a complete and utter waste of time. I mean a 3 hour lecture on health and safety. Time that could have been put to better use in creating lesson materials and/or marking work. And while I had age and money on my side, why did I not get out of this country when I had the chance!!??

And anyway concerning this stupid teaching job. I consider the law stopped me from what could have been a worthwhile career. I worked hard, I didn't go 1 or 2 extra miles, but 3. Cause I knewthis profession was going to be hard for me, I'm not the sharpest blade - thats for sure, else I wouldn't be in the trouble I am in. But I tried and tried and got no where. And I curse the very day I went into the college to enquire about teaching, and every moment I spent working there.

The reason I say the law stopped me was because, I was never entitled to any sort of benefit. I earned #130 per week, thats not enough to live but I took the job, to get experience (I even worked at the local prison as a teaching assistant to get some experience) but when you take away all deductions, tax and NI and other expenese including paying off the creditors, never was i eligible for any help. I dont want a hand out I just wanted a hand up, I couldn't even get that...jeez....

Some guy not native to these shores, managed to get a #10,000 grant to start a business, I even went on the same business course as him and still could get a thing.....Being a native is so much a handicap.

Then theres that stupid computer course I just wished it didn't happen. Theres me working my butt off. 5 months into the course, I'm ready for my first two exams. And what happens? The training company folds. Its ceases trading. Reason? The Managing Director does a runner with the money!

And understand, this isn't my money. Its my mothers. She's understandably upset. To put up the money to getting nothing back in return but sorrow. She got so upset, she contacted the local radio station who have a consumer s program, they kindly look into the issue for her and find out that that scam was bigger than anticipated, there are loads of students who lost money. I mean #1,800 was nothing in comparison. The amounts were variable like #5,000, #10,000.

We learned from the radio people, that the company's (called Train4) MD had committed fraud previously and had done time for it. So how the hell could he have become an MD of a company? Plus this company has some government recognition for becoming a training company. Meaning if you wanted to get some career development loan, then these people are approved!????????

But what does the law do about this? Nothing, Nada, Zip!
So much for consumer law protecting the consumer.

Life is a stagnat. A State of regret.

I'm fed up will all talk, all effort and getting no-where.
I'm fed up of having to write tons of letters and CV's. Putting in effort and getting nothing back. Getting a (any) job, is so damn hard! last week, 3 application resulted in 3 more rejections. Still waiting on others but I have no hope.

I simply don't have the fight left in me, the fire is out.
Whats the point anyway. No-one gives a ***t. The law is only here to control and surpress not to protect and serve. This hiprocracy I cannot stand any more. I am not just talking about an individual but the general population as a whole.

I don't want you to think I am being selfish. I understand there are people in this world who are even worst off then me.

It seems to me there are elements in this country, ie, politician, banks, some media, and the very rich don't want the rest to get a foot on the metaphorical ladder.

Yes, I am to blame for getting into debt, as for the rest of it....i tried but to no avail.

I think you'll agree that life was never easy or fair, but no one said it had to be a struggle. Effort Yes, but never a struggle.

Oh dear! As one who went on a student march "£13 a week is not a living wage" during the late 60's I know teaching has never been hugely well paid - but a load better(even relatively) than it was then. But you're right, teaching probably isn't for you feeling as you do. Sad though as it has been an incredibly rewarding career for me - the kick you get when a child suddenly finds out how something works for the first time is wonderful! My debts are as the result of some of my poorer decisions, not because my salary has been insufficient to live on. Good luck with finding what's best for you.

    and breathe.....

If you are a qualified teacher, then you have lots of tranferable skills.

Have you registered with agencies? Why not move into a general management post? You might have to start off at an administrative level, but it is better than nothing.

Your debt. List it here. List all your outgoings and we can start helping you.

Now go and have a coffee. Make is a de-caff ;)

Definitely make yourself a cup of tea! put your feet up.

If you feel the school you teach in doesn't inspire you or the pupils, then its time to move to a different school that appreciates both your talents and that of its pupils. Definitely worth registering with agencies.

I am curious about what you mean that the law stopped you? Did you get arrested for something?

You sound like me on a bad day. I work in a secondary school, not as a teacher and it is the worst job move I ever made. I loved working in primary schools. Had a lot of laughs but secondary is an entirely different beast.

Something will turn up and you'll look back on this time as the struggle it is but glad that it's over. You're very articulate and if you can get yourself on a more positive groove you will talk yourself into a job eventually.

    Hi

I could echo some of what you say about teaching, but having moved from a 'challenging' school to a more 'academic' school I do see that work places are so different it's almost like a completely different job (although I miss my old job!), so if you are in teaching (I couldn't work out if you were still in teaching or not) but it might be worth searching round and agency work etc. This may bring in some money you need to pay off those debts.

Also not sure about the scam you refer to - again, if you list your debts etc and SOA we'll be able to give you some pointers.

    Welcome to the board.
