Free Pentel NX5 marker pen

Ok. Now I was going to post the link I received in their newsletter, but I noticed at the last minute that my e mail address was included in the link meaning it was just for me and wouldn't work for anyone else. So, I've gotten on to the site and here goes:

The NX5 marker is our original retractable marker – with its safety lock mechanism enabling you to advance, retract and lock the bullet tip. And the pocket clip means you can carry NX5 anywhere you might need it !

To receive a free sample of the NX5 permanent marker all you need to do is get a friend or colleague to subscribe to the Pentel e-zine. If you live in the EU please click on the link below to request your sample. (This offer is only available to residents of the EU.)

Click here to subscribe to receive our e-Zine and also claim your FREE sample of NX5 permanent marker.

Towards the end of this year we will be launching new versions of retractable markers and highlighters. A great product is the NXS15 – a slimline retractable marker ideal for fine lines, addressing and CD/DVD marking. Available in black, red, blue and green, and with no cap to lose!

We’ll also be introducing a slim line highlighter, SXS15, called Handyline S, great for highlighting, underlining, and colour coding, and perfect for pencil cases! Available in six vivid colours: yellow, orange, light green, pink and sky blue.

The free sample offer is only available to residents of the EU.

Sometimes worth getting these 'flyers' in your inbox, if you read them they quite often offer freebies.

Good luck, hope everyone gets free pens. Oh, and I have checked, and the last post for this offer I could find was in 2005.

:money:
Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!

  • Ive sent for one but I found the info a bit confusing. I dont know if I have to get someone else to subscribe besides myself to qualify for the free pen.
  • You'll get a pen for subscribing and no doubt they will send you an email the same as the one received by Ann1e containing a link to refer a friend.

These are no good for marking cds as the ink comes off bit by bit over the years and it sticks to the inside you your cd players lens - after a while you cd / dvd player will not be able to read any cds or dvds as the lens is all cloged up

Must be an urban myth. The logistics wouldn't match up. The Pen is written to the top of the CD which sits in the top of the drive by the spindle the Laser then sits at the bottom or below the underside of the drive reading the metalic data in the pits and bumps. No pen can find its way through plastic. The spining would flick any particles to the outter of the drive so this means this theory of ink on the laser is somewhat impossible as the laser is always protected when cd is in motion.

Yes you do, helpful if you have two e mail addresses and another snail mail address, then you can send it to yourself! Here's a copy of the mailing I got when I sent it to myself:

Thank you for subscribing to the Pentel e-Zine.
You will automatically receive future editions to keep you up to date with the
    latest developments from Pentel.

I did also send it to some friends, not to get loads of pens, I just didn't think of sending it to myself at first! Pentel don't send their "e-Zine" (e-mail advertising) very often, so it doesn't fill up your inbox.

I doubt that since you are writing to the label side of the CD on top and the lens reads the underneath...
