Finally managed to sit down! Amazing how much I ended up doing on my birthday, DS announced he would be round for dinner, called him just before I dished out as he had not appeared and his alarm had not woken him up (he's on nights) so all the extra work I put into the dinner was for nowt :mad:

On the plus side I have a lovely new Ipod (hate Apple but have to admit their MP3s are good ), the new David Bowie CD, oven and garden gloves, and flowers and chocolates coming out of my ears :D DD also got me a rather nice cake, lemon meringue cake from T's, was delicious :D

Thanks Tiger - I have just returned from a wine expedition in N0rthampt0ns Mr T's. I tried the coke 8 pack in the Metro but the BOGOF was applied correctly at the till at the exact second I realised I had forgotten my wallet. The Express stores only have 6 packs so I assumed these would also scan correctly.

Picked up some incorrectly priced wine in a few of the stores though. One of the SAs was reluctant to do me DTD as this meant "giving the wine away free". As the till had taken the 25% off and with a £5 HH voucher I did not like to point out that she was incorrect and she was paying me to take them away.

I had already picked up some more wine shopping in the Extras first thing this morning so have not yet tried the coke in either.
Love your post.It gives you quite a buzz getting one over on the big stores.
