any tecchies in the house tonight?

can someone please explain to me in non technical terms what a `spider box` is , what it does and what the benefits of having one are please?

OH is onnabout one now, and i aint got a clue what he is talking about, have done a google but it all looks far too confusing for me to work out if we Need one
