Advise me nice people.
A friend gave me something she didn't want, I didn't want it so I listed it on Ebay (friend isn't bothered).
Now I have had an email from an individual Ebayer, not from anyone official at Ebay or the supplier, saying:
I'm afraid that this xxxxxx is a sample offered to (professional xxxxx's) and cannot be resold as it says on the box. At employees of xxxxxx we are trying to cease the sale and trace our boxes that we deliver to xxxx as the sale of these is prohibited. We are in the process of sending polite reminders to Ebay and their sellers before taking further action. Thank you in advance of your co operation."
Now I am minded to ignore that message because:
a) it isn't from Ebay
b) it isn't from anyone recognised by Ebay as part of their brand support programme (or whatever they call it).
c) it could be a competitor selling similar
d) I was given it legitimately
e) it is a genuine product, even this email doesn't claim it is a fake
f) the auction finishes today
g) it is not anything dodgy or anything that you or I couldn't buy in a shop.
What would you do?
Definately still flog it.
1/ Check the item for serial numbers etc, and if possible remove them so it is not traceable.
or
2/Reply to the email saying you bought it at a car boot sale and after looking at it decided you no longer want it. And if they want the item they can bid for it along with everyone else.(only if can remove identifying marks)
3/Check with your friend they are comfortable with you selling it as they may get the heat for it.
Legally, just because it says on the box "not to be resold" does not mean you cannot. If you have bought or been given an item legally, it is your to do with as you please.
So sell it!0 -

Friend is happy for me to sell, in fact gave it to me knowing that would probably happen. They don't even work in anything related to the product.
In 2 minds whether to reply or not - I don't really want emails back and for when they are not going to change their viewpoint. If I reply saying I can do what I want with my stuff, they are not going to say OK.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Watch putting credit card detail in or PayPal as it will be hard to cancel, where dd u can just cancel straight after the quid had gone out. I used do these all the time few years ago but they to bit wise n tried stitch me up mainly on the free gift offers which we're very lucrative.... I had like £90 face creams for ten quid and Hugo boss for same.....SIMPLES!0
