Been at hospital all day and dd is now awake off the drip and we are awaiting blood results. If she has had enough antidote she will have to see mental health team before they release her. Maybe tonight or tommorow.
Called her office to tell them what hapoened and her supervisor called me back thus afternoon to say her boss says she has no longer got a job cause she was off today!!!

omg that is unbelievable - how callous can people be :( so sorry for you and your daughter. How big is the company - do they have an HR dept? that is not seem right, your daughter is off sick. Rose I am just thinking aloud there you do not need to answer - just can't believe how some employers behave. Hope she gets all the support she needs from MH services.

First of all, many thanks for the lovely new thread CookieRaider. I thou that I would report in now before I finish catching up on the old thread and then get to grips with this new one :j

:( my sister got a call at 10.30 am from nurse at care home to say that Mam had been sick again the morning, after having her porridge. Nurse had contacted doctor who said the choice was ours as to whether they admitted Mam to hospital, though she couldn't have any invasive tests, or she stays in the home, taking care of her there to keep her comfy, with anti-sickness treatments. We agreed that she should stay at the home as moving her would be too distressing for her in her frail state

My brother said she ate very little lunch and she had nothing when me and my sis went down tonight. The nurse had said they are not giving her any more dairy products as it seems to be after them mainly, so she couldn't even try a yoghurt tonight. They suggested jam and bread with her having such a sweet tooth, but even when spooning off a tiny bit of bread with jam on for her, she wouldn't have it. She did have fluids as in squash and tea, and was actually bright and cheerful for most of the time, so we had a little carry on with her. The nurse gave her an extra tablet, ground up in water as they don't do this medication in liquid form, so we can only hope this will help her

Actually, the nurse said that she has been trained in infection control and teaches this in other homes, and she has found that most of them currently have at least one resident in exact same situation as Mam, off their food, with sickness and/or diarrhoea, with nothing showing up on tests. Very puzzling :(

I have just talked it over with my sister and I am driving home tomorrow and she will keep me informed of how Mam is doing so I can come up again as necessary. I need to do some things at home, not least sort out my meds as I run out Sunday

Thanks for all your good wishes guys :A

Really upsetting for you, hope she starts to feel better soon x

My cat has already claimed it :rotfl:

My cat has the box my bathroom basin come in, I bought him a plastic cat bed, a cat igloo and a padded cat bed, none of which he would use, but when I dump towels on the floor while I go gather more washing he's on them like he's never had a soft bed in his life :mad: I buy him the fleece baby blankets from the £shop to line his "this weeks fave cardboard box" :D

Had to admit to a little skippity hop to get here but thanks for the new thread Cookie
Hugs to all that need them group-hug.gif

Bit of a mixed bag today

Chemo went ok and had a friend take me so had company whilst there for a change :D

DK books arrived, Discovery seasoning sachet, Felix sample (to be donated to one of my sis's 4 cats) TCB Caesars confirmed :j:j:j

But then 15 mins after I got in DS1 started throwing up :( Hasn't kept anything down all afternoon/evening and is now asleep on sofa next to me where I can keep an eye on him. The baby oddly slept for 4 hours this morning, 2 this afternoon and still went down this evening at his normal time so hope he's not coming down with something too.

We were hoping to make it away this weekend. Had booked £19 Travelodge room in Derbyshire well before we knew I was ill and were waiting to see how I was feeling before we decided whether to go. Now ironically i'm not feeling too bad but the boys need to be at home

Oh well, could be worse. We'll have a weekend of treats at home and still end up spending less than if we went away :p

    Sorry, am rambling :o

BTW did anyone get email from Yankee with voucher? I've heard nothing

logie ramble away, that's what we're here for. I hope ds1 is feeling better tomorrow, and that you all have a good weekend together.

rose I'm not sure if your dd's employer can do this either, can anyone go to CAB for you? Maybe a post on the employment boards?
