Best laid plans ??? We have been on DMP since 2007 with Payplan and to a point they have been very good but I am now disabled on ESA (support) and unlikely to be able to work again.. I have recently been looking at the debt due to changes in benefits (bedroom tax etc..) and realized that we have now paid some £22.500 towards an original debt of £24.000  although when creditors ring which they are doing more and more now we seem to still owe as much as before ... Each creditor now only gets £1 a month and tbh are lucky to get that.. My wife works part time and gets overtime when she can but even with this we just about stay above water... It is difficult to know what to do next ...

Anyone else had cause to complain to the Ombudsman ? I have just done this about one creditor who refuses to listen to me, they have rung me everyday for 2 weeks now although they are well aware I am on a DMP and Payplan have contacted them on the 14th of March  The guy tonight was quite rude actually and accused Payplan of missing payments over the last 5-6 years  I am now looking in to Bankruptcy before all the pressure gives me a heart attack
but it seems from what I have read I could lose all possessions of value (Ipad, Xbox, TV etc) there is no way I could do that to my family... Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Do you have funds raised to file for bankruptcy?
The ipad and xbox compulsory items?DEBTFREE AND PROUD!!0 -
Unless you have brand new items that would fetch £1,000s if sent to auction, then you will not usually lose anything like that in bankruptcy. They are not even the sort of things that you would declare as assets on the forms in most cases.

Thanks for the reply
I am not sure I understand what you mean by Compulsory ? And funds ? As I say I am just starting to look at it but I assume you mean I would have to pay to become bankrupt. 0 -
The Xbox is my sons and is about 4 years old, my wife has an Ipad her dad got her for her 50th and I have a PC that is 9 years old and still going
and fishing tackle which a mate comes and picks me up once a month and helps me go, my only escape these days.. I am on ESA (Support) and my wife works part time.. No savings for a bankruptcy fee at all and will just about stay afloat even with the bedroom tax
outlook is pretty dismal to be honest but sh## happens
