To celebrate Fathers Day the Anson Engine Museum in Poynton, Cheshire is running a special offer - bring your dad or granddad along today and they will get in free.
Geoff Challinor, Chairman of the museum said “My dad encouraged my interest in engines by giving me one to restore when I was only 14. This is my opportunity to say “thanks” to dads everywhere by making it a special day here at the museum. We intend to have several of our engines running that day to make it a really special Fathers Day” . For more information about the museum and why it would be great for Fathers to visit, see https://www.enginemuseum.org
I am one of the volunteers at the museum (actually we all are except for Geoff the Chairman) and thought the offer above might appeal to all Money Savers I correspond with.
Regards

this sounds great but from the website I am not clear if we can plan to have lunch there, it does mention a tearoom but if it is to be my "big day out" I just wanted to check.
I have printed it off and left it lieing around to drop a big hint!
Thanks for that

Hi Hugh
there is only a small tearoom at this point but only minutes away is a great local pub that does great lunches. You can even get a "passout" at the museum so you can go off for lunch then come back to finish your look around.
I hope that helps make your special day complete.

engines and beer - what a perfect day. I could even suggest that they spend the entrance money they saved on buying the lunch.
Thanks - see you on the 17th.
Hugh
