I am entitled to jobseekers allowence but have not yet claimed it i understand that there are two types of jobseekers allowence "income based " and "contribution based i have yet to go and sign on for this .
I am now wanting to go back to college in september full time and have been told that if i receive jobseekers allowence then my tution fees would be waived (i would be unable to pay the tution fees myself therefore if they wernt paid for me then going to college would not be an option )
My question is does it have to be income based or conribution based jobseekers in order to get your tution fees paid ?
I understand that once ive been accepted for the college course then i would have to stop job seekers .
Just looking at my options

You would need to check with the College in question but it is usually income-based JSA that qualifies you.

Check your funding options with the college, there may be more options than just benefits based fee remission.0

Thankyou i have rang the college and asked the question they said it just says "ANY" work related benefit qualifys they said it could also be ESA as long as you are in the work related group .
I do want to make sure this is correct as i was told by a friend that she also thought it was only income based jobseekers allowence that qualifys .
so im confused0 -
The college is correct and your friend is incorrect I'm afraid so you will be ok.
It is a self declaration but the college may want proof of your status for their records.0 -
I'm on JSA and have been accepted into Beauty school (reason why I went on JSA). Once I start college will I be able to sign off JSA without any interference with the tuition fee that will be paid for me?
