First Year Anniversary THEN his 30th

Me and my Husband have been married almost a year now, (25th March). He was dropping hints for a specific hotel with a jet tub in it. I rang up this morning, breakfast and the room was £226. Haggled with the manager to £190 with champagne and roses in the room as a surprise included in the price Stayng there on the Sunday (Monday is our anniv) and on the Monday we are going to the venue we got married for a meal.

Then 2 weeks later its Mikes 30th. I have booked the hall, dj and ordering decorations tomorrow online via the cheapest place i have already found. Thing is, the following night we have a family function, and i feel all im giving him is a party for his birthday.

On the cheap, what else can i do on either of these days?

Could you not make up a voucher book for his Birthday, with something specific that you will buy/make/give him each month for the next year. For example: a DVD; his favourite cake; a picnic somewhere special; a new T shirt .....
That way you can spread the cost over the year plus your man will get a small 'season appropriate' gift each month.
