Does this mean I have been shortlisted or not?

I wondered if someone may have a better idea than me what this message means please.

I applied for a public sector job a few weeks ago, I have been tracking the application since and it has said under review. The closing date was 1 week ago, I tracked the application today and it is now saying
Application update-
Further to your recent application we shall be in contact shortly regarding the next stage of selection.

This is a job I am really passionate about and really don't want to get my hopes up so wondering what this means?

A message like that usually means you've been shortlisted but some organisations may just put that as a generic message after the closing date has passed. Was there another status update after the closing date saying it was pending shortlisting or similar or is this the first change since it closed?

A week is quite quick for shortlisting in the public sector in my experience!

Browneyedbazzi- no this is the first status change since submitting the application.

The job advertisement did have an interview date for the end of the month, so I guess short listing would need to be done quite quickly.
