Teeth Braces Cost

I want to correct just the 4 front lower teeth and looking for an approx price I'm expected to pay. I would consider metal wired braces if that's the cheapest option. The 4 teeth are crooked but does not look a disaster.
Thanks

It's really a 'how long is a bit of string?' question.
It may only be the bottom 4 that are crooked, but it all depends on how they are crooked, how they fit against the teeth above and how much room there is around everything.
It might be that they are suitable for some of the quicker orthodontic systems that just shuffle a few teeth around, they might not.
You need to ask your dentist rather than an internet forum! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
My son had braces a few years back and they were done on the nhs because of his age...although we were offereed an upgraded private consultation if we wanted them done any quicker...
I asked many questions at the time regarding the process and although I am by no means an expert on this what I have gathered knowledge wise would probably suggest to you that although its only your bottom teeth you want straightening, its possible that your bite will alter as a result and therefore both sets of teeth will need to be aligned...procedures usually take 2 yeard or so dependant on the individual case and once you have finished with the metal brace system you usually go onto a plastic retainer type contraption that is then worn at night for a further period of time...and in some cases this is ongoing to prevent the teeth from naturally moving back out of place...
The procedures are usually carried out by an orthadontist and a referral from your dentist is needed....so your first port of call should be to the dentist to discuss your options....
I was told that in certain circumstances the treatment was free but you have to have a medical need for this rather than it being cosmetic...so in the vast magority of cases there will bwe a charge...the course of treatment for my son if we went private would have been in the region of £2-3000frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Just to clarify , in general, orthodontic treatment (braces) is not available to over 18s on the NHS.
It is also not available to under 18s unless they meet strict criteria.
There are many types of brace system and you do not need to be referred to an orthodontist by your dentist if it's for private treatment , though it is wise to ask your dentist who they refer to.
A consultation with an orthodontist will normally cost £90 to £150 and treatment can vary from £800 to £5000 ish depending on complexity and length of treatment.
If you are an adult you will need to wear a retainer for life, either a wire glued to the back or your teeth or a clear plastic retainer worn at night.0 -

I came across a new site called daily dental deals.
I too wanted to see how much various treatments would cost me and my family. I need my crown replacing and have been putting it off. If i can get a good deal from a dentist, im willing to listen!
Might be worth you signing up and seeing how much they could save you and if they have a deal coming up.0
