Pds cleaning services scam?

Hi all!
I have found a pds window cleaning job on job centre plus.I have telephoned them to find out about the job but the answer-phone is permanently left on.I have left my details and today received a letter from them stating:

PDS Window Cleaning Rounds

1) £25-£30 per hour average income
2) Repeat business every week of the year
3) All the advantages of cash business
4) Comprehensive guarantees
5) Plenty of long weekends
6) Fantastic return on your investment-compare with any other business.

We are specialists in window cleaning businesses in a number of counties.EACH ROUND OFFERED FOR SALE BY PDS IS FULLY GUARANTEED...

Many people over the years have needed to raise finance in order to purchase a round. Most have typically gone to the High street banks and they continue to provide loans. However , they are sometimes not as accommodating as we all wish. PDS can advise you with regards raising funds. We can appraise your situation quickly during a telephone conversation and tell you wether you have a good, reasonable or overly optimistic chance of obtaining finance. We may be able to suggest alternative methods of funding that you may not even have considered.

Most people start off with a sensible sized round which they will do much more quickly within a short time.Expect to realistically earn £800-£900 weekly once you reach your top speed when you have become familiar with your round (£25-£30 hourly over 4 eight hour working days). The easiest way to increase your income further is work a larger round and employ one person full time. After wages this should earn you around £1200 per week.

Lets say a starter round you want earns £700 per week.

The purchase price of this round is £11,200.

Any loan repayments you have will not be a great portion of this and because all rounds grow as you pick up more customers each month, before long you will be able to clear you loan and have an appreciably larger income.

Should you wish to start with a round larger or smaller than the above the cost is proportionate.

i.e £1,400pw starter round for 2 people = £22,400
£1,200pw = £19,200
£1,000pw = £16,000
£ 625pw = £10,000
£ 500pw = £8,000

The minimum round we would provide is a minuscule £100pw = £1,600 (3-4 hours weekly!)

I have done a company check on companies house and it says the company is dissolved!

Any volunteers? :D

Sounds like a franchise operation at the best, where they loan you the money to buy the franchise. Whether their income projections are realistic is open to question....
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"
  • Just to give some feedback on buying a window cleaning round from PDS:
Firstly it's definitely not a scam. I have a friend who purchased a round from PDS and now has a window cleaning business, in which he employs one person. Obviously being a window cleaner is serious hard work, so your income depends on how hard and how fast you work.
Whether buying a round from PDS, or simply canvasing yourself is a better option, only you can decide.
