I found a cheque!

Hi all,
Just a rather odd question here!
I was going through some paperwork from my old flat when I found a tax rebate cheque from 2006.
Can I still pay it into the bank? Is it even worth trying? Is it even legal to try? I'd rather have the money if possible but I don't want to get into trobule!

Cheques normally have a validity of six months, I would contact the Tax office and ask them to re issue!

Am I allowed to do that? The cash would be very useful lol!

If you were issued a cheque but misplaced it you are still owed the money. Give them a ring and explain.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thanks Meadows, I will do that

doesn't the limitation act apply after 6 years? if so they aren't going to reissue it. they are going to have to trawl through years of accounts to check if this cheque was issued, its not going to happen.0
