Bailiff/council tax/ seizing car

Hello. This is my 1st post. I've had a bailiff visiting & is due again today. I've had some excellent advice from national debtline, but am frantically worried about our car. The bailiff has not been in our house, & we wonbe responding to his visit (if) he does come today. We have 2 liability orders for council tax & 2 sums come out of my husbands wage every month. We've been advised to ask C.Tax to reclaim the debt which I will put in writing. However, during the first bailiff visit I said "no" in response to his questioning if we had a card, but I observed he had our cars number plate written down - just a rough note he'd made. He must have assumed the car parked on the road outside our house could be ours. No seizure notice has been made for the car - as yet. If he's found out it's our car, can he seize it. We are currently parking it a couple of streets away. I've text him this morning to say I'm asking the C.Tax to reclaim the debt, and I've also asked him to return it. I'm just most worried about the car. If we don't have it my husband can't get to work as no bus route. I hope this all makes sense! Thanks.

You need to sell the car to someone you trust - £1 and a receipt will do. He will almost certainly levy on it, and parking it a couplke of street away is not a good enough hiding tactic. it needs to be off the road and invisible. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

They will look around a few streets near where you live, to see if they can see your car. As RAS says, make it invisible, a friends garage perhaps.Waste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!0 -
Is it legal to sell it in this way - legal enough to prevent seizure?
I have stalled things for 2 wks after speaking to the council tax office, & hope it doesn't come to further bailiff action.
I know a few streets away is not good enough, but we have no garage, or access to one.0
