It doesn't make sense!

Options
The extraordinary behaviour on the part of the government to axe and cut various benefits just doesn't make sense.

What will the government do when there is a mass influx of people into care homes and hospitals because carers can no longer afford to care? Those people in receipt of £58 a week for doing what many others cannot do will be replaced by local authority and private carers who charge £25 per hour for a carer within their establishments and up to £250,000 a year for their placement.

Has the government really done its maths before insulting the thousands who have given up their lives, good health and career to care?

For full 24 hour nursing care this is not an unusual cost and in some cases can rise to 4x this cost.
CHC funding aplications for £1m packages are regular although this does only include 6 - 8 people for a whole PCT area.

Think the problem is no matter what government is in power , they're faced with the choice of cutting spending or facing an economic armageddon in the very near future.

The present help and level of assistance people currently assume the government would be obliged to provide in the example you mention won't matter a jot in reality , if they've no funds in the coffers to pay for it.

There could be the situation where there's an entitlement but it isn't received because it can't be paid for. And not much gain in suing a bankrupt.
