Return on Endowment - Any Good?

Hi all

I recently had a Liverpool Victoria endowment that matured - the return was £3057 and I had been paying £10 per month for 15 years (started 1992).

Was this return any good? The total that I invested was £1800.

Would I have been better off paying this money into a bank? (don't get me wrong I ain't complaining I am delighted with my cheque).

As ever, thanks for your thoughts.

  • On £10.00 per month for 15 years £3057 represents a return on premiums of 6.8% per annum compound after tax and expenses and the cost of some life cover. You can be reasonably satisfied with your return.

In any case there is little value in comparing where you did invest with where you might have invested, it is always likely that you can find better or worse performance.
